Fannin Literacy Action Group was founded in 1989 by Mrs. Jill Key, amd became a Certified Literacy Community Partner in 1993 to work with low level adult literacy students in Fannin County. Over the years, over 1,000 individuals in our program have received their GED certificates. The group is certified as a Georgia Certified Literacy Community Partner through the Technical College System of Georgia. We work as the non-profit in collaboration with North Georgia Technical College Adult Education/Fannin Learning Center. We partner with NGTC to offer FREE GED and Hi-Set Prep, College Prep, ESL, and Basic Computer Literacy classes. FLAG also provides GED/HiSet scholarships to students; volunteer tutors; supplies; and educational materials. We also promote the Adult Education program in our community, serving Fannin Co, GA and East Polk Co, TN students.

Flag relies on grant funding from the Dollar General Literacy Foundation and the Georgia Bar Foundation, Inc., plus private donations to fund our operations. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Donate Time
FLAG provides volunteer tutors for students needing one-to-one instruction in GED and College Prep studies. Our tutors provide instruction in Math, Reading, Science, Language Arts, and Social Studies. FLAG tutors also teach ESL and Basic Computer Literacy classes.
